Owner
Richard’s career in the motor industry began as a 16 year-old apprentice motor mechanic and grew to him owning a six-strong group of Greater Manchester car dealerships. He has been chairman of MG Rover’s national dealer council, is a Fellow of the Institute of the Motor Industry and still owns a Fiat dealership in Bury. Richard grew up in Bolton, is a well known supporter of Bolton Lads and Girls Club, a fundraiser for Bolton Hospice, an auctioneer at charity events … and has raced powerboats on Lake Windermere. His move into the food industry has now created a business model that he hopes to roll out as a national franchise. “Zest,” he says, “is a totally unique combination of catering, deli, eating place, coffee shop and cookery school. I don’t know anywhere else like it … and that makes exciting business.”

Manager
Laura studied psychology at Wigan and Leigh College and went on to graduate from Teesside University with an honours degree in forensic psychology and a masters in forensic investigation. She had intended to become a police scenes of crime officer until an unexpected turn into the food industry put her on a different career path. Now she manages Zest’s brasserie and delicatessen operation and is involved with the outside catering and cookery school businesses.
